Waterbirds of Cayuga Lake - September 15th at 7pm

Join us on September 15th at 7pm for an exciting and interesting program on Waterbirds of Cayuga Lake presented by Dr. Kress, Visiting Fellow, Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology.

At a distance ducks, coots, gulls, grebes, and loons look similar, but they are only distant relatives. Dr. Kress will help us learn how to identify Cayuga Lake waterbirds. He will share insights about these amazing birds and why Cayuga Lake and surrounding wetlands offer such important waterbird habitat. Cayuga Lake is a waterbird paradise, stretching 40 miles from the shallow water off Stewart Park in Ithaca to the marshes of Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. Dr. Kress has an engaging narrative as you enjoy remarkable photos and learn where to find waterbirds when they visit Cayuga Lake and nearby wetlands.

We look forward to seeing you . Come early and tour other exhibits at the museum!
