The Frontenac Historical Society and Museum and the Pomeroy Foundation have announced the unveiling of a historical marker in the Village of Cayuga. The unveiling ceremony will take place on June 19th at 11am in front of the former St. Joseph's Church in Cayuga at 207 Genesee St.
The Pomeroy Foundation historical marker program gives honor and recognition to the Catholic Church which was dedicated in 1870 by Bishop Bernard John McQuaid. Mayor William Sherman, Mayor of the Village of Cayuga, Father Ron Gaesser, former Pastor during the 125th anniversary celebration and Father William Moorby, current Pastor of the southern Catholic Churches in Cayuga County will be present.
